Salary: MPS/UPS + 1/2 SEN Points

Start Date Sept 2022

The Haven is a non-maintained Specialist School for pupils with Autism aged 11-19 in Flintshire. The team here are passionate about supporting our learners and their families to achieve positive outcomes in an informal educational setting. We are affiliated with Peterhouse school in Southport and part of Autism Initiatives.

What is the role?

You will plan, deliver and record lessons to a small group of autistic children, using a highly personalised approach. You will work closely with and be responsible for a team of Teaching Assistants. You will liaise with other school-based professionals such as Therapists, and will promote positive working relationships with the wider school staff team as well as parents and external professionals.

Who are we looking for?

You will have QTS and a passion for making a difference – RQTs are welcome to apply. You will be able to think creatively and flexibly, using an understanding of each pupil’s individual needs to engage them and overcome barriers to learning. You will have a positive attitude and be willing to reflect and develop. You will have a sound understanding of autism but will be open to improving you practice.
